Pictured is last year's recipient.  Ms. Stevphanie Ballard teaches Special Education at Yale Elementary. She has used her $500 grant to purchase supplies and programs that will enhance the learning and behavior of children with a variety of special needs.  A sensory hallway will be installed soon.

Mr. Long was an original board member of Mya’s Promise who had a great passion for Early Childhood Education.  He was moved by the progress children with special needs could make with early intervention.  His memory was honored by the creation of this grant in 2017.  Grants have been awarded to teachers at Sangre Elementary in 2017-18 and Glencoe Elementary in 2018-19.
